IQC-based L2-control of linear periodic systems

چکیده

Stability analysis of linear periodically time-varying systems via integral quadratic constraints is extended to the problem of control design. A full-state feedback controller that satis5es exponential stability and L2-gain disturbance attenuation from an external disturbance to a controlled output is designed for linear systems with periodically time-dependent system matrices. The main result relies on dual forms of certain integral quadratic constraints. The solvability conditions for the problem are cast as a set of 5nite-dimensional linear matrix inequalities and thus, they are easily solvable. Moreover, the best possible disturbance attenuation level can be obtained as a convex problem. c © 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

Integral Quadratic Constraints

Integral Quadratic Constraints (IQC) are inequalities used to describe (partially) possible signal combinations within a given dynamical system. IQC offer a framework for abstracting ”challenging” (e.g. non-linear, time-varying, uncertain, or distributed) elements of dynamical system models to aid in rigorous analysis of robust stability and performance (more specifically, to establish L2 gain ...

IQC analysis and synthesis via nonsmooth optimization

Integral quadratic constraints (IQCs) are used in system theory to model nonlinear phenomena within the framework of linear feedback control. IQC theory addresses parametric robustness, saturation effects, sector nonlinearities, passivity, and much else. In IQC analysis specially structured linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) arise and are currently addressed by structure exploiting LMI solvers. ...

On semi-global stabilization of linear periodic systems with control magnitude and energy saturations

This paper establishes a systematic approach to solve the L1 l1 ð Þ and L2 l2 ð Þ semi-global stabilization problem of linear periodic systems with controls having bounded magnitude and energy, respectively. The developed approach will be referred to as L1 l1 ð Þ and L2 l2 ð Þ low gain feedback. Definitions, properties, and characterizations of this new concept are also provided, and particular...

Model-based periodic event-triggered control for linear systems

Periodic event-triggered control (PETC) is a control strategy that combines ideas from conventional periodic sampled-data control and event-triggered control. By communicating periodically sampled sensor and controller data only when needed to guarantee stability or performance properties, PETC is capable of reducing the number of transmissions significantly, while still retaining a satisfactor...

L∞ and L2 semi-global stabilisation of continuous-time periodic linear systems with bounded controls

This article is concerned with L1 and L2 semi-global stabilisation of continuous-time periodic linear systems with bounded controls. Two problems, namely L1 semi-global stabilisation with controls having bounded magnitude and L2 semi-global stabilisation with controls having bounded energy, are solved based on solutions to a class of periodic Lyapunov differential equations (PLDEs) resulting fr...
